Stevens Pass Records 17 Inches Of Water In 5 Days

The winter in Washington and much of the Pacific Northwest is looking fairly bleak so far, with lots of rain and little snow making opening days look pretty far off. A recent update from Stevens Pass Ski Resort demonstrates just how rough it’s been, with 17 inches of water falling on the mountain over a 5 day period.
According to their update, the resort is in good shape despite the rainfall, something that sadly can’t be said for many communities as devastating floods and continued rainfall devastate the residents.
With highways closed in the area, Stevens Pass is awaiting the ongoing assessments of the Washington State Department of Transportation. As soon as road access and weather conditions safely allow, crews will get to work preparing the ski area for the winter season.
The resort took the opportunity to thank partners and crew working around the clock to support local communities, including WSDOT, PSE, and Chelan County PUD. Our thoughts are with all of those impacted by these devastating floods.
