The 6 Best Ski Resorts in the U.S. for a Girls' Trip

As much fun as it can be to ski with the guys, sometimes, you just need a girls’ ski trip.

You can ski all the gnarly lines and deep pow you want without any of the usual testosterone, and then hit the spa on your rest day. A girls’ trip isn’t necessarily going to be better at one resort than another, but rather, an all-girls trip is special in itself.

However, there are definitely a few ski areas that are easier to get to than others if you’re planning with your long-distance buds, and there’s always the consideration of who has which ski pass.

We also won’t deny how good a spa day is, so we included a few resorts with top-tier spas nearby so you can really indulge. Here are a few of our top picks for girls’ ski trips in the U.S., so your trip can finally make it out of the group chat.

1. Deer Valley, UT

Deer Valley, which sits just outside Salt Lake City, Utah, is a great destination to take the gals. The resort recently underwent a massive terrain expansion and is also expanding its base area to include a whole new section of luxury hotels, dining options and more.

With its proximity to Salt Lake’s international airport, Deer Valley is also an easy destination to fly into from all over, and IKON Pass holders are allotted seven days of skiing there, making it convenient to ski other IKON destinations.

There are tons of fantastic dining and lodging options, both slopeside and in the greater Park City area. A cocktail (or dinner) at High West Distillery and sushi at Shabu are always on the docket for girls’ night in Park City.

2. Aspen, CO

If you’re hoping to ball out for a girl’s ski week and ski plenty of epic terrain, Aspen, Colorado, is a great spot. With Aspen Mountain, Aspen Highlands, Buttermilk, and Snowmass to choose from for skiing, you’ll have plenty of different terrain to keep the whole crew busy and excited. When you’re done with your Highlands hike for the day, Aspen has lots of good après spots both on mountain and off and plenty of fancy spas at places like the St. Regis Hotel.

There are also often good après parties happening with live music and local DJs. Music fans will definitely want to keep Aspen in mind for a trip as well. The Belly Up is one of the most famous small concert venues in the U.S. and a must-do for Aspen. Additionally, both the X Games and the Snow League will return to Aspen in 2026 if you’re looking to catch a freeskiing comp and more live music while there. Check out the lineup, find a band your crew loves, and plan your trip.

3. Taos, NM

If your girl gang loves mogul skiing, green chiles, and a good day at the spa, Taos Ski Valley should be top of the list! Taos is known for its amazing skiing, but particularly moguls and powder days that live rent-free in your mind. If the skiing doesn’t have you convinced, the local culture and cuisine should! New Mexico is known in part for its incredible green chiles, which are well worth a try at spots like The Shed.

There are lots of art galleries and cool shops downtown to check out and maybe snag some turquoise jewelry at too. For the ultimate rest day, check out Ojo Caliente, a hot spring and spa resort just outside Taos. It’s known to be one of the best spas in the western U.S., and the hot spring water is said to be full of healing earth minerals.

4. Stowe, VT

For a New England gals’ ski trip with the cutest small town vibes, check out Stowe, Vermont. Stowe is on the Epic Pass, making it an easy spot for skiers with the multipass or from different areas. Stowe is also just a three-hour drive from Boston and closer to other, smaller airports, making it a fairly accessible destination. Located at the base of Mount Mansfield, Stowe is one of the larger resorts on the East Coast. It’s got a fair bit of intermediate and expert terrain, and plenty of variation to keep your crew busy.

There are luxury hotels like Spruce Peak, classic Vermont hotels like the Field Guide Lodge, or plenty of Airbnb options. The Trapp Family Lodge is also just outside downtown Stowe for Sound of Music Fans (yes, that Trapp family!) or just those looking for a European-style beerhall. Vermont is also known for its booming craft beer scene, so leave plenty of time for après and to try all that the region has to offer at spots like The Alchemist or Stowe Cider.

5. Sun Valley, ID

What better spot for a girl’s trip than the home of one of the most popular women’s ski apparel brands, Wild Rye? Ketchum, Idaho, where Sun Valley sits, is an adorable, small mountain town with both a down-to-earth vibe and a luxury feel when you’re looking for it. There is an airport in Hailey, a few minutes down the road, or Sun Valley is just under three hours from Boise. The town itself is pretty walkable, and there are lots of great hotels and AirBnBs to stay in.

Spend your trip skiing at Sun Valley Resort or nordic skiing at Sun Valley Nordic Center, before doing a little R&R at Zenergy Health Club and Spa. Don’t forget to indulge in Sun Valley’s great restaurants like Warfield Distillery and Brewery or try quick, local brews at Lefty’s.
