The book arrives amid Kids Ski Free Week at Deer Valley and other Ikon Pass resorts. The deal applies to kids 12 and under through December 12.
On the last day of Kids Ski Free Week, Deer Valley is hosting a mascot meet and greet with Eddie, along with the other animals for photo ops, starting at 1:30 p.m. at the Snow Park base area and continuing until 4:30 p.m.
Ashley Moore, the artist of Meeting of the Mascots, will be in attendance for book signings, and kids can dig into cotton candy and light snacks. Director of Marketing, Carly Driscoll, said skiers of all ages are welcome to join. A pop-up shop is also selling copies of Meeting of the Mascots: An Adventure Story & Coloring Book and Eddie plushies.
The other participating Kids Ski Free Week mountains include: Steamboat, Winter Park Resort and Arapahoe Basin in Colorado; Palisades Tahoe, Mammoth Mountain, Big Bear Mountain Resort, and Snow Valley in California; Stratton and Sugarbush Resort in Vermont; Snowshoe Mountain in West Virginia; Crystal Mountain in Washington; Schweitzer in Idaho; Solitude Mountain Resort in Utah; Tremblant in Quebec and Blue Mountain in Ontario, Canada.
A few of those mountains, including Crystal Mountain and Palisades Tahoe, have yet to open for the season officially. Palisades Tahoe does, however, have a carpet open with access to beginner terrain. The mountain also interviewed a few of the young skiers hitting the slopes there, with hilarious results.
