Alberta’s Lake Louise Ski Resort is finally unveiling the run names for its brand-new Richardson’s Ridge terrain pod. Each name will pay tribute to the local geography, honoring the stunning landscapes and rich natural history that sits in Banff National Park and the surrounding area.

The first two revealed names are Merlin and Redoubt, with Merlin sitting as the longest of the new runs and named after the gorgeous Lake Merlin. Redoubt is named after the 2,902 meter Mount Redoubt that stands over the new terrain pod.

There are 3 more trail names yet to be revealed, though they’ll be announced throughout the coming days. The ski resort did offer a clue for the next trail name though, stating the following:

Hidden past peaks where the wild winds blow, a cozy old lodge in the backcountry snow.” – Lake Louise

The new Richardson’s Ridge area is a 200-acre terrain pod serviced by a new detachable high-speed quad chairlift. It’s set to debut this season with five new beginner and intermediate trails alongside some gentle glades. The future expansion will include advanced and expert glades in addition to a surface lift.
