Jackson Hole Ski Resort Confirms New Opening Day, Feet of Snow in Forecast

After a brief weather delay, Jackson Hole, Wyoming, is back in business with the possibility of heavy snow in the forecast.

The ski resort now plans to open this week on Thursday, December 4, 2025, with three lifts operating: Teewinot, Après Vous, and the Sweetwater Gondola up to the Mid-Station.

Those lifts will access a group of beginner and intermediate runs. As expected, early-season hazards will exist, so skiers should be on the lookout for rocks and stumps.

Alongside the ski terrain, Jackson Hole’s Aerial Tram will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. between December 5 and December 7. Atop the Tram, Corbet’s Cabin will serve its trademark fare: waffles.

Jackson Hole

Like many other western ski resorts, Jackson Hole has been plagued by mild weather this season, leading to the previous delay. A surge of wintry weather, however, could soon change the mountain’s fortunes.

According to Powderchasers, between 17 and 26 inches of snow could fall at Jackson Hole through December 6. The ski resort, in a press release, noted that it hopes to announce additional terrain and lift openings this coming weekend—or sooner if conditions allow.

“With more snow in the forecast, we can’t wait to welcome our first guests on Thursday and share some incredible days on the mountain together this winter. As we all know, there’s no bad day on snow, and this season promises plenty of memorable moments for everyone,” said Jackson Hole CEO Doug Pierini, in the release.

Jackson Hole is now among the growing number of ski resorts getting back on track.

Park City, Utah, has recently announced plans to open on December 5, marking a delayed start. Sun Valley, Idaho, which also pushed back its opening date, is set to open on December 3.

Still, some mountains have yet to share a new opening date. An official opening day for Palisades Tahoe, California, remains elusive, but the ski resort plans to host a carpet-accessed “limited beginner experience” on December 6, with more details and updates available on its website this week.

Keep doing your snow dances.
