Feet Of Snow Expected In The Northwest Over The Next Week

It’s been a bit of a slow start for the ski season in the western half of the United States, with several ski areas being forced to push back their opening dates as they wait for more snow and snowmaking opportunities. Fortunately that seems to be turning around, and if Meteorologist Chris Tomer‘s most recent forecast stands true, the next 7 days could be pretty big for the Northwest.
A wide range of ski areas in the Northwest are looking at a foot or more of snow in between December 1st and December 7th. Big Sky, Schweitzer, Bridger Bowl, Brundage, Timberline, Mount Baker, Mount Bachelor, and more are all looking at between a foot and a foot and a half of snow in the coming week.
Colorado could also see some proper snow, with Loveland, Breckenridge, Winter Park, Vail, Crested Butte, Snowmass, and Steamboat all forecast to see a foot or more by December 7th. The big winners of the next week, however, look to be Jackson Hole and Grand Targhee, with both forecasted to see up to 2 feet of snowfall in the coming week. Certainly not a bad start to December.
