GB Slalom Skiers Back in Action
It is the first World Cup ski race of the season in the Alps and follows a 4th place from Laurie Taylor and a 7th from Dave Ryding last weekend.
Billy Major came 27th ensuring GB had three racers in the Top 30.
Laurie posted his best ever World Cup result.
His previous best World Cup finish was 8th in Aspen, USA, in March 2024.
Last year Dave came 7th in Gurgl and it is the venue of his main sponsor which may give him that extra determination.

The first runs takes place at 09.30 with the second at 12.30.
The bib draw took place on Friday night.
Dave Ryding – Bib 12
Laurie Taylor – Bib 29
Billy Morgan – Bib 32
All eyes will be on Dave in his final season, but Laurie’s performance last week suggests he is poised to step into his boots.
“What a day,” said GB men’s slalom coach, Jai Geyer after the result in Levi.
“That’s the best start to the season we’ve had as a team, with something we’ve never done before here – two in the top seven – so we’re all pumped, great for the team.
“What a solid start.”
Lets see if the team can build on that solid start in Gurgl today.
