Madonna di Campiglio Looks Forward to Its World Cup Event
Inspired by the Kandahar Ski Club’s combined race format, the founders of 3Tre added giant slalom to downhill and slalom in 1950, creating the “3Tre” — three racing days in Trentino.
The 72nd edition of the 3Tre marks several meaningful anniversaries
- 30 years since Alberto Tomba’s win.
- 20 years since the last Italian victory by Giorgio Rocca
“It was the best day of my career, but it’s time for an Italian to break the spell on a slope that has always been magical for our sport,” said Giorgio Rocca to the invited guests at The Oriental Club.

Among the other guests at the Oriental Club were Italy’s Deputy Ambassador to London, Riccardo Smimmo.
“As a passionate skier and and lover of Madonna di Campiglio, I would like to express my deep appreciation for the impeccable organisation of the 3Tre, one of the most prestigious and historic events on the international stage,” said Riccardo Smimmo.
“This year, with the Olympics approaching, the event takes on even greater significance as a symbol of encounter, dialogue and brotherhood among athletes and nations.”

Dave was on the podium in 3rd place at Madonna di Campiglio in 2023.
The trio sent a video message from Levi in Finland where the first World Cup slalom race of the season took place at the weekend.

“It is one of my favourite races of the year and I’m looking forward to having another crack at it.”
In Levi Ryding and Taylor were in the Top Ten.
Taylor came 4th – his best ever World Cup result.
