Colorado’s Ski Season Expands With Three More Resort Openings This Weekend
With the exciting back-to-back opening duel between Keystone and Arapahoe Basin a week or so ago, a new group of Colorado resorts is joining the ski season fun this weekend, Copper Mountain, Loveland, and Breckenridge among them.
Copper Mountain is scheduled to begin the season on Friday, November 7, 2025, at 9 a.m.
The resort will spin the American Eagle Express with skiing from the Rhapsody trail to Fair Play to Main Vein. Alongside those trails, Copper Mountain has a terrain park ready to go atop American Eagle with a dozen features.

As is often the case with early-season operations, Copper Mountain won’t have terrain open for beginners on Friday.
To get the party started, the ski resort is giving away free coffee, hot chocolate, bars from the bake shop, and YETI Ramblers (that’s an insulated mug) to the first 50 skiers who queue up at American Eagle. A DJ is set to play tunes in Eagle’s Landing from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.
In a few weeks, Copper Mountain is set to host the season’s first World Cup racing event in the U.S., the Stifel Copper Cup. The group of races includes a men’s super-G and giant slalom alongside a women’s giant slalom and slalom.
Breckenridge will open on Friday, November 7, too. TheDenver Post reported that the resort’s early-season offerings include the Springmeier trail via the Colorado SuperChair and the Five SuperChair. A spokesman for the resort told the Denver Post that the Four O’Clock and Trygve’s trails should open soon after opening day, accessed by the Rip’s Ride chairlift.
The resort also shared on social media that its free skier parking lot has moved to a new location off McCain Road, with continued free shuttle access to the BreckConnect Gondola.

At Loveland, the season starts one day later on Saturday, November 8. The mountain will spin the Chet’s Dream lift with skiing on the Catwalk, Mambo, and Home Run trails. A small terrain park will be open, too.
With these three ski areas coming online, there will be six mountains open in Colorado, including Winter Park, which opened a few days after Keystone and Arapahoe Basin.
