Deep October Powder In Wyoming—Skier Brooks Curran Scores In New YouTube Video
Winter hit the Tetons last week and the first big storm of the season was a fruitful one for both sides of the range.
Between Jackson Hole, Teton Pass, and Grand Targhee, some of the best early-season ski spots racked up 10-11″ of snow, which is just enough for some very careful, cruiser laps.
Skier Brooks Curran reaped the benefits of the last big storm for some early-season turns. As demonstrated by his Instagram, he’s not exactly picky about what kind of snow he’s skiing, as long as he’s getting turns, but these ones did look pretty good.
Curran kept his early-season pow turns simple with raw audio so you can really feel the rush if winter hasn’t quite hit your home hill yet. You can watch his video by tapping or clicking below. Keep reading for more.

While I can’t in good conscience *blow up the spot* in Curran’s video, I will say that it is known for providing pretty dank early-season turns, and it might be somewhere near Grand Targhee.
Targhee is known for great early-season skiing, and the resort allows uphill access for certain periods during the off-season. Just make sure to check the uphill status on the Targhee website before you go. The resort is currently planning to spin lifts starting on November 21, 2025.
On the other side of Teton Pass, Jackson Hole Mountain Resort opens on November 28, 2025.
Curran also found the goods on Teton Pass, another fantastic spot for early-season pow turns. Not everywhere on Teton Pass is a go-to with only a few inches of base, but there are definitely a few grassy meadows that aren’t sure to destroy your skis (and body) if you choose to venture out early in the year.
While early-season snow like this can be a bit deceptive, based on Curran’s videos, it does actually look pretty darn good out there. Perhaps it’s just the Vermont in him that makes all pow look deep, or the fact that he’s on Nordica Unleashed 120s in October…
