Colby Stevenson Appears On Kelly Clarkson Show 100 Days Before Winter Olympics

With less than 100 days till the 2026 Winter Olympic Games kick off in Milano Cortina, the world has turned it’s focus to athletes that will be representing their countries.

As a result, sports like freeskiing, which normally aren’t quite in the frame for everyday pop culture, is suddenly getting a lot more attention with a stacked lineup of athletes working towards spots on Team USA.

One of these athletes is Park City based skier, Colby Stevenson. Stevenson not only holds multiple X Games gold medals and an Olympic silver medal, but has also made a name for himself with standout film segments on incredible backcountry terrain. Stevenson also has a particularly inspiring story, which landed him an appearance on NBC’s Kelly Clarkson Show yesterday.

Stevenson joined actors Joel Kim Booster, Maya Rudolph, and Jessica Capshaw on the talk show on October 29, 2025 to talk more about the upcoming season as well as his own path.

Stevenson’s interview included the classic ‘action sports meets pop culture’ banter, where he described his approach to big mountain skiing, and defined each of the competition disciplines he skis. Stevenson left Clarkson questioning his sanity and remarking that when skiing herself, the main focus was just getting down the mountain. Stevenson also delved into the car accident that left him with a TBI and nearly ended his ski career.

Clarkson also noted that the upcoming Winter Olympic Games was particularly special for Stevenson and his family. His previous appearance at the Games in 2022 followed the COVID pandemic and spectators, including Stevenson’s family, weren’t allowed at events. Stevenson’s family and several close friends are already planning to come watch him in the 2026 Winter Games in Milano Cortina, Italy, which was also coincidentally the location of the skier’s first World Cup win just eight months after his car accident.

Stevenson also recently released his new film, Phantom, which features 10-days of sled skiing in the Wyoming backcountry and two days of Heli skiing in Alaska. The film was shot by cinematographer Jack Francis and FPV Pilot Luke Bredar, both of whom have helped to capture and create some of Stevenson’s other standout projects and best segments.
