Meet PRO Skijor: The Wild New Tour Mixing Cowboys With Skiers

Step aside, Snow League, Freeride World Tour, and the X Games—there’s a new tour in town.

PRO Skijor, according to a press release, is billed as North America’s first professional skijoring series. This coming winter, it’s launching with the Frontier Tour, a six-stop circuit across Utah, Montana, and Idaho.

Skijoring, to those unfamiliar, blends the worlds of cowboys and skiers. In the discipline, a skier is towed behind a horse as they navigate a winding course with jumps and obstacles.

It’s “the perfect mix of horsepower, gravity, and grit,” said PRO Skijor co-founder Greg Lipstone. “We’re turning it into an event series built for both athletes and fans, something that feels epic, authentic, and unlike anything else in winter sports.”

Lipstone has experience in the entertainment industry alongside another co-founder, Chris Castallo. Ben Kim previously served as the former Chief Operating Officer of Playboy. This team is joined by Brian Gardner and Joe Loveridge, the duo behind the Skijoring Utah events.

The press release said that each stop of the Frontier Tour will include timed heats, freestyle, aerials, and divisions for amateurs and pros. The series starts in Heber City, Utah, on January 16, 2026.
