Arapahoe Basin Just Announced Its Opening Day for Ski Season 2025

UPDATE 10/25: Well, that’s something. Keystone Resort opened this afternoon—Saturday, October 25—at 3 p.m., becoming the first ski resort officially open in North America for the 2025-26 season. In a comment on Instagram, Arapahoe Basin graciously conceded defeat, writing, “I believe a congratulations is in order.” The stunt marked Keystone Resort’s first-ever afternoon season kick off. The ski resort begins full-day operations tomorrow, October 26.

Arapahoe Basin, Colorado, is scheduled to open for skiing on Sunday, October 26, 2025.

According to a recent blog post from Arapahoe Basin’s president and COO, Alan Henceroth, the season will kick off at 8:30 a.m. with access to the Black Mountain Express. On opening day, skiers can hit High Noon, an intermediate run.

“The Snowmakers had a good session last night,” Henceroth wrote in the blog post. “Three snowcats will spend the day dozing and tilling High Noon. Tonight the Snowmakers will put the frosting on cake.”

“Can’t wait to see you,” he added.

The Summit Daily reported that starting Sunday, Arapahoe Basin will be open seven days a week.

Arapahoe Basin’s opening will come earlier than last year, when the ski resort first fired up its chairlifts on November 2, the same day as Keystone. That season, both mountains were beaten by Wolf Creek, which opened on October 22 after accumulating more than two feet of snow.
