Mikaela Shiffrin Announces New Podcast and Personal Logo

Ever wanted to feel like you’re in the same room as alpine racing superstar Mikaela Shiffrin? Later this month, on October 29, you’ll be able to listen to her when she launches the first episode of her new podcast, What’s the Point with Mikaela Shiffrin.

While that phrase sometimes implies a shrug, Shiffrin’s podcast, as you might expect, takes the opposite tack, focusing on and trying to understand people chasing success.

“I want to get insights and perspectives from other people about why they do what they do, why they love what they love, what drives their pursuit of excellence or improvement,” she said, according to the Associated Press. “If it’s records, if it’s results, if it’s passion—just to understand more about what values people have and what drives them,” Shiffrin added.

The launch of the new podcast is accompanied by a new visual centerpiece for Shiffrin’s personal brand, a logo that spells her initials while also looking like ski tracks. The logo was created by design studio Wunder Werkz. The marketing agency Skylark contributed, too.

Shiffrin revealed the logo in an Instagram post yesterday, writing, “A mark that represents more. Introducing, MS. My personal brand that symbolizes the journey.”

Who might appear on Shiffrin’s new podcast in the future?

The cast could be wide-ranging. The Associated Press reported that Shiffrin wants to speak with ski racing rivals, business leaders, star athletes who aren’t skiers, celebrities, and more.

The news outlet also reported that for Shiffrin, the talk show host Stephen Colbert would be her ideal guest on What’s the Point. She said Colbert, whose father and two brothers died in a plane crash when he was young, has “developed such an articulate way to talk about grief.”

The branding and podcast debut come as Shiffrin’s preparing for her first appearance on the World Cup circuit this season in Austria, where she’ll compete in giant slalom on Saturday, October 25.

Shiffrin’s reappearance on the course follows a difficult winter. Last November, she crashed and suffered a severe abdominal injury in Killington, Vermont.

The fall forced her to miss several races and left her with lingering PTSD. Still, she finished the 2024-25 season strong with a slalom win in Sun Valley, Idaho.

“It’s been an incredible journey to work from the end of last season, where I had a total mind-body disconnect, to where I am now,” she said earlier this week, according to FIS.
