New Almanac Forecasts La Niña Fueled "Wicked Good Winter" for East Coast

New Almanac Forecasts La Niña Fueled "Wicked Good Winter" for East Coast

You’ve seen winter forecasts from the Farmer’s Almanac, the Old Farmer’s Almanac, and more, but a new Almanac has recently hit the internet—Donny’s Almanac.

Created, presented, and explained by Donny Pelletier, Maine’s Finest Athlete, Donny’s Almanac uses a scientific approach for predicting the weather this upcoming winter. It’s so scientific, in fact, that it’s hard for us to explain.

Donny breaks down words like, ‘weatha’, ‘meteaolagy‘, and ‘preshafor us laymen, shares how he thinks La Niña will affect the snow forecast out East, and more.

Crack open a can on Moxie, kick off the Bean Boots, and buckle up. According to Donny, skiers in Maine should expect, “exponential powda days” this winter. We sure hope he’s right.

If you didn’t watch Donny’s full video explaining Donny’s Almanac 2025, I highly recommend that you do. Not only is it the best long-range weather forecast I’ve seen for the East Coast this winter, it’s by far the funniest.

For those out of the loop, Donny Pelletier has become skiing’s most popular character through years of skits, cameos, and his downright hilarious skiing technique. He’s portrayed by former Olympian Troy Murphy.

Murphy is a world-class skier in his own right, just check out his non-Donny Instagram page, but the character has taken a life of its own in recent years. Troy, dressed in Donny’s staple flannel shirt, jeans, suspenders, and NAPA hat regularly films advertisements for Sunday River, Maine and Palisades Tahoe, California. He can be spotted hosting events, speaking at ski conferences, and winning snowblade competitions throughout the season.

Donny is skiing’s favorite character, and we couldn’t get enough of his first Almanac. Here’s hoping there’s more to come.
