IKON Pass Adds 50% Discount on Lift Tickets for Friends and Family

The Ikon Pass has just announced a new feature to sweeten the deal.

Ikon Pass holders can now offer their pals discounted lift tickets of up to 50% off window rates at select Ikon Pass resorts, but there’s one catch.

Each full Ikon Pass holder will get 12 Friends & Family discounts for the winter season, and Ikon Base Pass holders will get 10 with limited blackout dates, but these tickets must be redeemed online only between October 9-30, 2025. The passes can then be used during the season, but if they aren’t redeemed in the specified window, you’re out of luck.

“The snow is already falling in the high country and opening days are around the corner, which makes now the time to hook your crew up with up to half off lift tickets, and plan your days on the hill for winter 25/26,” said Matt Bowers of Alterra Mountain Company in a press release, “Ikon Pass Friends & Family discounts are an ideal way to spread joy this winter.”

Participating resorts include Steamboat, Winter Park Resort, Palisades Tahoe, Stratton, Snowshoe, Mammoth Mountain, June Mountain, Crystal Mountain, Blue Mountain, Big Bear Mountain Resort, Sugarbush, Deer Valley Resort, Solitude Mountain Resort, Schweitzer, Arapahoe Basin, Copper Mountain, Eldora Mountain Resort, Killington-Pico, Mt. Bachelor, Brighton, Snowbird, and Alyeska.

Ikon Pass’ new Friends & Family Tickets announcement comes hot on the heels of a similar promotion from it’s Vail Resorts conglomerate competitor, the Epic Pass. In August, Epic Pass announced that Epic Pass holders will receive six to ten 50% off buddy passes, depending on when they bought their pass. Epic Friend Passes are redeemable at all 37 of Vail’s North American resorts like Whistler Blackcomb, Park City, and Breckenridge.

The major difference between the two passes is that Ikon Friends & Family passes must be redeemed in the given 21-day October window, and Epic Friend passes can be redeemed throughout the entirety of the season. Epic Friend Pass users can also apply 100% of the cost of a redeemed ticket to an Epic Pass for the following season.
