These Atomic x Grateful Dead Skis Are the Trippiest Gear Drop of the Season
I can’t really think of any single band that’s been so integral to ski culture as the Grateful Dead. Whether we’re talking film collabs, merch drops, or just that the fact that every stoned liftie from Killington to Mammoth is vibing to Ripple, the band’s music and influence is everywhere. So, when the Dead announced last year that visionary skier and artist Chris Benchetler was commissioned to create their 60th anniversary logo, we knew it wouldn’t end there. Today, the further fruits of that collaboration can be seen in the release of a new Atomic Bent 110 ski sporting limited-edition Grateful Dead art.
This is the kind of ski where you might scratch your head and think, do I mount it and ski it, or do I hang this on my wall as art? The new Atomic Bent 110 GFD features the special GD60 logo and vibrant, trippy graphics painted by Benchetler, reminiscent of the group’s vintage album covers and the music’s timeless legacy.

In a press release, Atomic says, “From ski towns to backcountry bootpacks, the Grateful Dead’s music has echoed through the mountains for decades. Their ethos of freedom, improvisation, and a deep connection to the natural world directly mirrors the spirit of freeskiing. Long, flowing jams match the experience of descending the mountain, adapting in the moment and finding a groove. As Benchetler puts it, ‘that spirit lives in every arc of this ski.'”
The 2026 Bent 110 GFD marks the third creative collaboration between Atomic Skis and the Grateful Dead. Back in 2019, Atomic released the Bent 120 GFD (the white ski with a guitar on the topsheet) alongside Benchetler’s film Fire On The Mountain. Then came the smaller Bent 100 GFD, followed by the new Bent 110 GFD, launched in anticipation of Benchetler’s upcoming new film Mountains of the Moon.
The artist and his wares.
