Killington Details Which Trails Are Getting New Snowguns For The 2025-26 Season

Killington, Vermont — A new chairlift isn’t the only notable change coming to Killington Resort next winter.

Killington is in year two of its massive snowmaking enhancement project, which has added 1,020 new snowguns across the ski resort. Yesterday, Killington Resort detailed which trails have received new snowguns for this upcoming winter. These trails include Great Northern, Home Run, Chute, Mouse Trap, Mouse Run, Lower East Fall, Cascade, Cascade Runout, Spillway, Superstar, Northbrook Trail, High Road, The Stash, Shorty, Bear Cub, Bearly, Skye Lark, Pipe Dream, Killink, Lower Easy Street, and the Highline. For Highline, which is Killington’s signature racing trail, new snowguns are being added to both the left and right sides.

Last offseason, Killington also added snowguns across the mountain. The new and replacement guns installed last offseason are situated on Cruise Control, Upper and Lower Needle’s Eye, Outer Limits, Alpine Training Venue, Upper Header, Timberline, Upper and Lower Great Eastern, Blue Heaven, Bear Trax, Skyeburst, Upper Bittersweet, Panic Button, and Superstar.

Pumping It Up (Bear Mountain)

Another notable snowmaking upgrade by the Vermont ski resort is the addition of a fourth pump to the Bear Mountain pumphouse. This will increase the gallons per minute (GPM) produced in this pumphouse from 1,800 to 2,500. It will also allow snowmakers to use up to fifty more snowguns at a time. That means more opportunities to rip up Devil’s Castle and Outer Limits.

Other Upgrades

Killington’s list of projects this offseason is impressive. Other additions include the replacement of Superstar with a detachable high-speed six-pack, new gondola cabins on Skysehip, a new heated gondola barn to host these cabins, a new surface lift, new groomers, and more.
