FIS & Ski Austria Reach Media Rights Agreement
Beginning in the 2027/28 season, FIS will oversee the distribution of international media and broadcast rights for FIS World Cup events in Austria across all platforms.
The rights will be distributed by Infront as part of its existing exclusive agency agreement with FIS for the distribution of the international media rights to FIS World Cup events for all platforms.
The agreement between FIS and Ski Austria spans seven seasons, running through the conclusion of the 2033/34 season.
This long-term partnership reflects the joint commitment of FIS and Ski Austria and marks a major milestone in the global evolution of snow sports.
Integrating the management of the international broadcast rights to the Austrian World Cup competitions will unlock new opportunities to present snow sports to a broad international audience.
It also guarantees planning security for the organisers and ensures worldwide visibility of the events.
“Today’s agreement concludes the centralization of the international media and broadcast rights, and is an important step forward for the future of our sport,” said FIS President, Johan Eliasch.
“By bringing international media and broadcast rights together under one framework, we can deliver a more consistent and innovative product – one designed for the digital age.
This will drive greater visibility, attract more investment, and create new opportunities for our athletes, our disciplines, and our sport.
It will allow us to reach new audiences, inspire the next generation of fans, and strengthen our global position.”

“We are pleased about this license agreement and the future cooperation,” said the Secretary General/CEO of Ski Austria, Christian Scherer.
“In intensive and constructive discussions on equal terms, we were able to develop a sustainable solution that fully respects Austria’s special position.
“I am particularly glad that this agreement ensures that the flagship events – including the World Cup Opening in Sölden, the iconic Hahnenkamm Races, the night races in Schladming and Flachau, the traditional Four Hills Tournament, the Nordic Combined Triple and many others – will continue to be showcased internationally, engaging a larger global audience than ever before.
“Ski Austria and its organizers will continue striving to optimize these events and to raise their quality to an even higher level.”

“The ÖSV races are among the most watched and celebrated events in the FIS World Cup, and this agreement allows us to bring their excitement to a global audience,” said Senior Vice President ProSports at Infront, Bruno Marty.
“Together with ÖSV, the other World Cup National Ski Associations and FIS we’ll focus on reach, reliability and sustainable growth for the sport and our collaborative efforts will ensure maximum exposure and value for these iconic races.
“We are delighted to be able to offer all FIS World Cup media rights out of one hand for the first time.”
