Body Toppling in Carving ski
Toppling in physics.
Topple. Usually, due to friction, a torque is applied on a body opposing the change of motion, and usually due to the quick axis of rotation shifts, if the momentary axis of rotation falls outside the body that time the body topples, and this is the condition of toppling.
Toppling in skiing.
This “topple” of the mass across the skis is achieved by bending the downhill leg at just the right moment to send the body where you want it to go. We learn to do this without thinking, yet it demands precision in a moment of multiple chaotic forces
Toppling is the transfer of mass of your body across your outside ski when releasing the pressure in order to prepare for the next turn.
This kind of action will help you use the counter force of your body and energy kept during the turn to help your skis achieve an early edging to control your speed and maintain maximum edging for the second run
Toppling at the right time is extremely important if you like to achieve this goal!
